Empty sites, low prices, and the destinations that are actually better cold

The most underrated season and the one where the price difference is largest. Kyoto's temples are close to empty, Iceland gets aurora and ice caves that do not exist in summer, the Gulf and southern India reach their most comfortable months, and outdoor hot springs are at their best. The constraints are real: short daylight, closed mountain roads and coastal resorts that shut entirely.
